A Note From the Pastor
*******************
"And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard
that He was in the house. Immediately many gathered together,
so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the
door. And He preached the word to them. Then they came
to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men. And
when they could not come near Him, because of the crowd, they
uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken
through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.
When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, "Son, your
sins are forgiven."
Mark 2: 1-5
As most of you probably know by now, for the last two weeks we have
been taking care of a very sick parent in the hospital. And
this has caused me to do alot of thinking about things I wouldn't
normally think of. But mostly, it's caused me to wonder, "How
much should I be doing to in order to get someone to Jesus?" I
mean, you have to admit, those four men stopped at nothing to get
their friend to Him. Not crowds, not rooftops, not anything
stood in their way. Because they knew that there was only ONE
way he was going to be healed, and that was, if they carried their
friend and laid him at the feet of Jesus. Pretty amazing, huh?
So in our everyday life, with the many people we place on our prayer
lists, and those people who ask us to pray for them, and even some
of those people who get under our skin; how often are we
laying them at the feet of Jesus? And what are we doing to get
them there? Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth
and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through Me."
So we can spend our days trying to get by the best way we can,
hoping that our friends and loved ones get better, or we can do what
those four men did and carry their friend to Jesus. So what
about you? What are you doing to get someone you love to know
Jesus?
God Bless you this week.
In Christ,
Bro. Billy
