Billy, his wife Robbie and his stepson Matt,
joined the family of Berry Lane Baptist Church in September
2004. In January of 2003, he was called as a lay-pastor
for Cowboy Heritage Church in Clyde, Texas. During his
time there, Billy felt the call of God to do much more and in
March of 2004, Billy surrendered to the call to preach and began
supply preaching at various churches in the Abilene area.
In August of 2004, Billy accepted an invitation to preach at
Berry Lane Baptist in Abilene Texas. From that day on,
Billy felt that Berry Lane Baptist was where God wanted him and
his family to be and so they accepted an invitation to stay.
Billy is a bi-vocational pastor who has worked for the Texas
Department of Criminal Justice since July of 1987. Billy
had been a Captain of Correctional Officers since May of 1999
but has recently resigned his duties there and is now a
supervisor in the Law Library at the French M. Robertson Unit.
Besides spending time with God, friends and
family, He also enjoys reading, listening to music and being
involved in Matt’s activities.
Billy invites everyone who desires to find
a church home with a family atmosphere, that focuses on God and not
how you’re dressed to visit Berry Lane Baptist Church where we
always “Start with Prayer, End with Praise and Always Worship
the Lord.”
